30 days to reaching your potential day seventeen: Have a rest

The average person needs approximately seven-eight hours a night sleep. Often we don’t get the amount of sleep that we need. This could be because we are out partying, watching movies, drinking, etc. Although we may enjoy these activities, not getting enough sleep can cause us to be less energetic, impatient, tired and more.

Today’s exercise is an easy one. Rather than having a big night, go to bed a little earlier than usual. Have a good night’s rest and try to get the recommended seven-eight hours sleep. See how you feel in the next day after a good nights sleep and determine if you feel any different from nights where you don't get the recommended amount.

We spend approximately a third of our lives sleeping. As much as we try to avoid it, we still have to do it. So make sure it is time well spent, so that you are at your peak potential during the day rather than lacking energy throughout your days.

As a side interest, I found some facts on the ABC website from the National Sleep Research Project. You can find them here: http://www.abc.net.au/science/sleep/facts.htm
