A quick tip on confidence
When you are feeling a bit down or lacking belief in yourself, head to the nearest bathroom.
Find a mirror there and stand in front of it. Take a long hard look at yourself.
Look at the way you stand, the way you dress, the way you look, whether you are smiling or not, etc. When going through this exercise, keep in mind two things:
- The person feeling down is the person in the mirror. Others in similar situations don't feel this way, therefore you don't have to.
- Your appearance speaks a lot about yourself. Be prepared to make a few changes.
Stand up straight, look yourself in the eye, straighten up your tie or other aspects of your clothes, fix your hair and then tell yourself the following Duke Nukem saying until you start to believe it:
"Damn I'm good!"
You are good, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you feel down or as though you are not good, make a note of the things you are unhappy about, and make a commitment to take action to improve these things. Feeling down makes you worse, it is only through action that we begin to improve.
The only person who can act on your behalf is the person in the mirror. Get to know this person well. Get their help to increase your confidence by taking action towards your self improvement on a regular basis.
